ARTS, CULTURE,
AND ENTERTAINMENT DISTRICT
In 2017, Ocean Avenue Association declared Ocean Avenue to be an Arts, Culture, and Entertainment District to recognize, celebrate and foster a thriving creative element in the business district. OAA works to promote the arts through events and public art projects such as the Arts Alive Ingleside banners currently displayed on the streetlight poles of Ocean Avenue.
PROJECTS
In partnership with OMI Cultural Participation Project, OAA commissioned 74 unique streetlight pole banners painted by local artists.
From 2015 to 2017, OAA produced Second Sundays on Ocean Avenue, an entertainment series hosted in businesses on Ocean Avenue.
From 2017 to 2018, OAA produced the Ocean Avenue Arts Bazaar, a monthly outdoor market at Unity Plaza where local artists and vendors sold their wares.
