Reflecting on the Last Quarter of 2025

The final quarter of 2025 was a special and meaningful season for the Ocean Avenue Association—one marked by creativity, celebration, and moments of genuine community connection. As the year came to a close, the corridor came alive through art, gatherings, and shared experiences that reminded us why this work matters.

We were proud to host the Peer Clique Collection photography exhibition in August, a thoughtful and moving show curated by Dom Kilon and the collective. The opening reception brought together neighbors, artists, and supporters for an evening rooted in intention and creativity. In collaboration with City College of San Francisco, the exhibition reflected a powerful message shared that night: with good intention and community, no idea is too big to achieve.

That creative energy continued in September with SF Open Studios, where our space once again became a place for artists and neighbors to connect. Over the course of the weekend, visitors stopped in to view artwork, meet artists, and celebrate local creativity. These moments—fueled by teamwork, volunteers, and support from nearby businesses—highlighted how art helps strengthen the fabric of the neighborhood.

Later in the quarter, on November 21, we hosted our first-ever Block Party in this format. The evening was filled with vendors, music, and neighbors enjoying the corridor together. The energy, warmth, and turnout made it clear that there is a real appetite for more opportunities to gather, support local businesses, and simply spend time together on Ocean Avenue.

As the holidays approached, we opened our doors on December 11 for the OAA Holiday Open House. Families, kids, and neighbors filled the office with crafts, hot chocolate, and holiday cheer. We were especially grateful for the presence of SFPD Taraval Station and Officer Butler, whose visit added to the sense of care and safety that afternoon. We also continued our annual support of the SF Firefighters Toy Program, inviting the community to help spread joy to local children.

Throughout the quarter, we were also glad to support ongoing, partner-led events and milestones along the corridor. Monthly activations like Expert Pet’s Wine Woof Wednesday and Mercadito Saturdays received especially strong support in October, alongside celebrations such as Charm Coffee’s first anniversary—each reflecting the growth, creativity, and resilience of our small businesses.

Looking Ahead to 2026

As we move into 2026, we’re excited to build on this momentum—continuing to host welcoming events, support business milestones, and create spaces for art, culture, and connection. With the expansion to Lakeside Village officially activating this month, we look forward to extending these programs across all our communities.

Thank you to everyone who showed up and supported this work. Please stay connected by reading our newsletter and following our updates on Nextdoor (Ocean Avenue Association) and on social media at @sfoceanave for upcoming events and updates.
